Apart from the internal cable components, the jacket or outer covering is also important as it helps protect the internal components of cable during the transport, installation as well as during use. As part of the development of sustainable basic infrastructure for the public and in response to the demand throughout the business value chain, from raw material producers to consumers of electricity and telecommunication services.

SCG Chemicals has thus consider the voices of customer and developed Medium Density Polyethylene Compound, MDPE M545WC with exceptional flexibility which not only assist bending during cable installation and prevent the cable from breakage during bending, but also facilitate ease of  cable stripping. Furthermore, M545WC can achieve excellent features as follows:

Process abilities:

• Excellent thermal stability – To prevent thermal degradation of plastic during extrusion process
• Good flowability – To increase cable producers’ productivity
• Low shrinkback (Shrinkage)– To help cable producers reducing waste from shrinkage of the power cable and fiber optic cable outer jacket of which has to be discarded

Durabilities:

• High strength – To increase the strength of power cables, protecting the internal cable components both during

            installation and use.

• Good UV / Weathering resistance – To prevent cable jacketing from deterioration when exposed to sunlight and outdoor surroundings
